Join us for our new series, Cook the Book, where you will learn how to prepare recipes from a different cookbook each month in our very own kitchen. These classes will give you the opportunity to dive into the cuisines, flavors, methods and techniques of well-known cookbooks, both locally and nationally, that are dear to our hearts and inspire our culinary point of views. This month we are featuring Ottolenghi Simple: A Cookbook.
In Ottolenghi Simple, chef Yotam Ottolenghi (author of Jerusalem, Plenty, Plenty More) presents approachable recipes packed with his signature Middle Eastern-inspired flavors. His recipes features bright, fresh and complex flavors, but with a familiar and homey approach that focuses on quality ingredients and achievable techniques. The recipes are all simple in at least one way: made in 30 minutes or less, with 10 or fewer ingredients, in a single pot, using pantry staples, or prepared ahead of time for brilliantly, deliciously simple meals. Whether it's giving your brunch a make-over, refreshing the side-dish rotation, brining ease to the weeknight table or surprising your sweet tooth with new and exciting flavors, Ottolenghi Simple is a cookbook everyone should have in their collection.
In this hands-on class today, your Chopping Block chef instructor will guide you through the ingredients and techniques in order to bring the exotic-yet-approachable recipes of Ottolenghi Simple to life. Ottolenghi Simple recipes featured in class include: Pea, Za'atar, and Feta Fritters; Carrot Salad with Yogurt and Cinnamon; Harissa and Beef Sirloin with Pepper and Lemon Sauce; Couscous, Cherry Tomato and Herb Salad; Sumac-Roasted Strawberries with Yogurt Cream.
You can purchase a copy of Ottolengghi Simple here, but we'll provide printed copies of the recipes in class.

Due to the layout of our kitchens and in consideration of your classmates, students will work in groups of 3 to 5 people. Parties of 6 or more will be directed to our private events department so we can accommodate them appropriately. All participants in class must be at least 18 years old.
1-week cancellation policy.
