Keep the German culture of Lincoln Square alive! Celebrate the history of this neighborhood as you learn how to prepare authentic recipes using traditional German cooking techniques.
Warm Beet Salad with Shallots and Caraway; German Rouladen (Rolled Flank Steak); Braised Red Cabbage; Schupfnudeln (Potato Noodles); Bratapfel (Baked Apples with Cinnamon and Sugar a la Mode).
Skills Covered in Class Include: Getting Familiar with German Ingredients and Techniques; Roasting Root Vegetables; Making Vinaigrette; Selecting and Braising Beef; How to Prepare a Roulade; Balancing Flavors; Selecting Potatoes; Making Potato Dough; Selecting and Baking Apples.
Due to the layout of our kitchens and in consideration of your classmates, students will work in groups of 3 to 5 people. Parties of 6 or more will be directed to our private events department so we can accommodate them appropriately.
