With colors sparkling like precious jewels, textures compared to silk and satin, and flavors ranging from juicy peach to the finest dry-aged aged meat, wine is our most sensual beverage. Join our tasting of six wines, mixed-and-matched with tastings of five menu items, to test the rules of wine and food with The Chopping Block's sexiest wine and food combinations to craft your own sensational wine and food experience!
Sommelier Mary Ross will discuss ten easy guidelines guaranteed to get the most enjoyment from your wine and food pairings, practice wine words and answer questions including "will any wine complement spicy food?" and "what does red wine with meat really mean?" This is a fun and delicious seminar for all lovers of good wine and food!
Tastings include: Welcome wine: Adami, "Bosco di Gica" Prosecco Superiore; Domaine Pichot, Vouvray "Le Peu de la Moriette" paired with Baked Brie en Croute; Domaine Pichot, Vouvray "Le Peu de la Moriette" paired with Roasted Beet and Butternut Squash Salad with Almonds and Arugula; Babich, Sauvignon Blanc paired with Steamed Mussels with Spicy Italian Sausage, Herbs and Tomatoes; J.K. Carriere, Pinot Noir "Provocateur" and Reunion, Malbec paired with Sautéed Beef Tenderloin with Crumbled Blue Cheese, Red Wine Reduction and Truffled Potato Puree; Albino Rocca, Moscato d'Asti DOCG paired with Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.
Students will enjoy generous tastings of each wine and food item being served. You must be 21 or over to attend.
