Join us as we kick off our new hands-on series, Cook the Book, where you will prepare recipes from local and national cookbooks in our very own kitchen. This class will give you the opportunity to dive into the cuisines, flavors, methods and techniques of well-known cookbooks that are dear to our hearts and inspire our culinary point of views.
This month we welcome, Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN, into our kitchen for an afternoon full of fun and culinary enlightenment as you will learn how to prepare recipes from her book, "The Superfood Swap: The 4-Week Plan to Eat What You Crave Without the C.R.A.P.".
Dawn thinks we've got it all wrong. Instead of steering clear of bad-for-you food, she believes you should embrace your cravings... just do it with healthier ingredients. Dawn recently proved her approach is effective, too. She beat out six other celebrity weight loss experts to win the crown on ABC's My Diet is Better Than Yours! For more than fifteen years, nutritionist Dawn Jackson Blatner has helped hundreds of clients lose their bad eating habits and step up to optimal health. The key? Not deprivation, but a new kind of gratification, which she calls "super swapping"-- exchanging fake foods (C.R.A.P.: food with Chemicals; Refined sugar and flour; Artificial sweeteners and colors; and Preservatives) for wholesome high-quality foods--superfoods.
