Chicago Tribune food writer and chef JeanMarie Brownson joins us for a special evening celebrating her new cookbook Dinner at Home: 140 Recipes to Enjoy with Family and Friends. Since 2007, JeanMarie has chronicled her life of cooking in a column in the Chicago Tribune featuring inventive and easy-to-make recipes. She has handpicked and collected her favorites in this must-have cookbook, which won the International Association of Culinary Professionals Award in the Children, Youth and Family category. The recipes featured are perfect for weekday family dinners as well as entertaining. For JeanMarie, cooking for friends and family ranks as one of life's greatest pleasures, and her passion for creating unique, trustworthy and approachable recipes is very present in Dinner at Home.
JeanMarie has long been a highly respected chef and food writer, from her time as the Chicago Tribune's test kitchen director and associate food editor to her ongoing partnership with iconic Chicago chef Rick Bayless. She has also coauthored three cookbooks with Chef Bayless.
Join us for an intimate evening where you'll have the chance to get to know JeanMarie. She will begin the evening by demonstrating how to prepare Prosciutto Parmesan Puffs from her book. You'll then enjoy a family-style dinner featuring Roasted Beet, Radicchio and Walnut Salad; Chicken Osso Bucco; Crusty Sliced Baguette with Herbed Cheese Spread; Latte Brownies with Ice Cream while JeanMarie shares her passion for food and life.
A copy of Dinner at Home is included in the price of the class and additional copies will be available for purchase.
